united states space milestones
During the space race, the US easily overtook the USSR. From a technology standpoint, they advanced quickly and their technology evolved faster than the USSR's did. While the race was going on, everyone was glued to their TV's to see what was going to happen. The only thing in the news was the space race.
Video 1: Dr. Shames talks about how the race was different than anything else that had been done before.
